🎉 Enrollment is OPEN! 🎉
Location and Timeframe:
Holy Family Scholars classes meet in the new Education Center at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church - 4921 Columbia Rd, Grovetown, GA 30813.
Fall classes begin August 11, 2026 and meet on Tuesdays from 11 am to 2 pm. A co-op day will consist of a co-op wide "homeroom", first class session, break for lunch/recess, and second class session before dismissal. Nursery may follow a slightly different schedule as needed.
Parent Requirements: Holy Family Scholars is a parent-led program and there is not a drop-off option - parents must remain on-site for the duration of the co-op day. Parents are expected to serve as volunteer teachers, helpers, coordinators, and substitutes as requested by the HFS Leadership Team. Parents may identify areas in which they would like to serve at the time of application.
Our current class groups:
Nursery (Ages 0-2)
PreK (Ages 3 and 4)
Kindergarten/1st Grade
2nd/3rd Grade
4th/5th Grade
6th/7th Grade
8th/High School
Classes are capped at a maximum of 10 students. Grade groupings may be combined further if necessary depending upon enrollment numbers.
Class Offerings:
Nursery (0-2 years): Along with lots of free play, snacks, love and care, our nursery children will participate in their own Making Music, Praying Twice music movement class during the co-op day.
Pre-K (3-4 years): Catholic Icing ABCs, CHC Exploring Nature and Making Music, Praying Twice
Art (Kindergarten & Up): Creativity and foundational skills will be nurtured through engaging, thoughtfully designed lessons that explore art fundamentals such as color, composition, line, shape, and texture, while introducing students to both classical and contemporary artists. Our faith will be woven into the lessons to keep our Catholic connection alive. Our Art Coordinator, a certified Art Teacher, is happy to offer guidance to any parent-teachers involved in art.
Science (Kindergarten* & Up): Sonlight Faith-based Science Programs
To offer greater flexibility, science with Holy Family Scholars will be available to our families in two different formats*:
Option 1 - Science Lab Enrichment - Hands-on learning experiments will be done in co-op class. If families are already using a science curriculum at home they'd rather not change, science class with Holy Family Scholars can be an enrichment day - no other work done at home.
Option 2 - Complete Science Program - If families need a complete science program to add to their homeschool, they can purchase the necessary books and activity sheets {see Optional Booklist here} for the needed grade levels, follow the at-home schedule and join us for the coordinating hands-on lab experiments done together on co-op class day.
*Option 2 applies to 2nd Grade and up. The Kindergarten/1st Grade class will enjoy reading the books and completing the worksheets together in class one week, then do the coordinating hands-on experiment the following next week. A weekly subject list will be provided if K/1st grade parents want to add on additional learning opportunities throughout the 2-week span that correspond with the specific topics introduced in co-op class.
Field Trips and Extra-Cooperative Activities:
We are excited to incorporate field trips and liturgical living activities into the co-op as an enriching extension of the learning experience. Through these experiences, students will make real-world connections to their studies and grow together in their Catholic faith.
